Hi, thanks for visiting -- I'm Travis, aka Crankstrap.

I spend most my time producing videos, collaborating on film projects, taking pictures, & helping clients create a variety of branded content. Some of the companies I've worked with this year include the Chicago Bulls, Lollapalooza, Sprite, Volkswagen, AT&T, & the Chicago White Sox.

My stop motion campaign for the Bulls won the NBA's Digital Content of the Year in 2016 & received back-to-back nominations for the 8th Annual (2016) + 9th Annual Shorty Awards (2017).

It was also featured on NBC, Reel Chicago, & Fast Company, among others. During the 2017-18 season, Bulls TV produced a behind-the-scenes video about me.

In 2005, I founded Crankstrap Productions, a small video production company based in Chicago.

In 2015, we expanded into a boutique digital agency + multimedia shop that combines my hands-on DIY approach with my background in corporate advertising.

More recently, I've been busy exploring abandoned places around the Midwest in preparation for my short film, Analog Music Armor, which we shot last summer.

If you're interested in collaborating and / or wanna talk about how I might be helpful, please email me!

Work aside, I read + write + listen to as much music as possible.

Lately, I’ve been especially curious about paleo lifestyle, analog vs. digital, evolutionary biology -> tech-singularity, psychonautics + creativity + productivity, blockchain-based optimism, & mobile-only media platforms.

I have a degree in philosophy & in literature from Colgate, I run every day, and every once in a while I experiment with a 25-hour circadian rhythm, which never ends well.

I live with my border collie, Meadow, in Wicker Park, Chicago.
