Hi, I’m Travis, aka Crankstrap — thanks for visiting!

I spend most my time collaborating on film projects, producing videos, & helping clients create a variety of other branded content.

My stop motion campaign for the Chicago Bulls won the NBA’s Digital Content of the Year for 2016 & received back-to-back nominations for the 8th Annual (2016) + 9th Annual Shorty Awards (2017).

It’s also been featured by NBC, Reel Chicago, & Fast Company, among others.

Recently, I’ve been busy exploring abandoned places throughout the Midwest in preparation for an upcoming short film, Analog Music Armor (password: amapreview), which will be finished in August 2017.

Please email me for more information.

In 2005, I founded Crankstrap Productions, a small video production company based in Chicago.

In 2015, we expanded into a small digital agency + multimedia shop, where we “combine a hands-on DIY approach with backgrounds in corporate advertising to balance the best of both worlds.”

Work aside, I read + write + listen to as much music as possible.

Lately, I’ve been especially curious about paleo lifestyle, analog vs. digital, evolutionary biology vs. tech-singularity, productivity, the benefits of psychonautics, & mobile-only platforms like Snapchat.

I have a degree in philosophy & in literature from Colgate, I run every day, and every once in a while I experiment with a 25-hour circadian rhythm, which never ends well.

I live with my border collie, Meadow, in Wicker Park, Chicago.
